In almost every state in USA you can find speed cameras. However, the shape and direction of a speed camera can often change.

- Gatso Speed Cameras - sited at the road side, Gatso speed cameras use radar technology and as they can be used as fixed speed cameras, fixed upon tripods, used inside moving police vehicles and in-car mobile police units, they are extremely convenient for local authorities and police forces across the World. Gatso cameras are designed and constructed by Gatsometer BV, a Dutch company founded in 1958 by a former rally driver named Maurice Gatsonides, who even won the Monte Carlo rally in 1953. Gatso's are probably the most versatile of systems used by the police and it is estimated that 70% of speed camera points come from Gatso's. Gatso Speed Cameras housings in the UK are painted yellow to make them visible to motorists from a distance.
- Truvelo Speed Cameras - Forward facing cameras that are designed to take images of the front of a vehicle as it passes from the front of the camera. Truvelo Speed Cameras looks like a square box with two eyes and is usually painted yellow or blue. Truvelo was founded in 1966 in South Africa and the company continues to grow today.
- SPECS Speed Cameras - sited on overhead gantries, SPECS speedcams measures your average speed between two points. There are different names for this is different countries

- Watchman Speed Cameras - sited at the road side, Watchman speed cameras use radar technology to measure speed, a photo of the back of the vehicle is taken.
- Mobile Speed Cameras - sited at the road side, Mobile Camera sites rely on a car/van/bike or tripod to turn up in random or fixed locations.
The new Speed camera devices are digital. This means the devices won't flash anymore and will not warn other users (because of the flash). They have no camera inside anymore. The picture will be transfered to a central station and within a few days your fine is comming to you.
